Conflicting Blurbs

Blurb madness.

I was just reading this blurb about blurbs and it reminded me about Nancy Eimers' first book of poems Destroying Angel. One blurb on the back begin with a line like "These are not poems of consolation ....". The blurb beneath it began something like, "In these stark poems of consolation." It cracked me up - forever.

Ah, yes, the imperfect art of marketing and promotion.

Enjoying your blog--loving the pupdates.

Your profile took my breath away because grief and loss are embedded in my life right now...as I continue to swim in the infinity pool of living...

PS: Thanks for the Monday Poetry suggestions on my blog.

I've often wondered if the blurbers have read the books they've blurbed.
But I've never seen ANYTHING quite that bad before.

Kate, I am a fool with a camera and no self control - the pupdates are hard to resist.

Glad you came by and hope very much you come by now and then - we can talk about swimming.

Hey RJ, yes, I would think someone would catch that in the proofing stage ...

On a completely unrelated note, do you grow any herbs - say Basil? I am having herb hissues.

Keith--I do herbs--both here and for the restaurant. The Basil here this year has been very uneven. Some just seems to wither and some is going strong (even throwing out flowers way early in the season.) Let me know what your hissue is and I'll try to help.

I will do better than that - I'll post a photo of my issue. The basil was great at first, nice vibrant green leaves ... but now .. sigh ... yes, I will put up a photo for you to look at. Probably the easiest way. Thanks for the offer. In return I will send you the most kick ass pesto recipe.

Keith--Sounds good. I'm going to be pretty spastic blog-wise this weekend but I'll try to get back to you ASAP.
