Darn it, He's Just Plain Unmavericky

Here is a very thorough piece by a Rolling Stone columnist on just who/what McCain is and how, I am sorry to say, he ain't very Mavericky. And here is an excerpt, re: the Keating business which is likely to get more attention the almost-Press now that Palin's out there pointing out Obama's terrorist ties.

"When McCain became a senator in 1986, filling the seat of retiring Republican icon Barry Goldwater, he was finally in a position that a true maverick could use to battle the entrenched interests in Washington. Instead, McCain did the bidding of his major donor, Charlie Keating, whose financial empire was on the brink of collapse."
