  1. I can't tell which is the most oddball sentence I've ever read before; it's a toss-up: "Some people have also been known to cook up road kill squirrels, which concerns Berger." "A crazed squirrel may be more likely to dash into traffic and get killed." or ``We don't even fix squirrel gravy anymore,'' said Otis Hicks, one of the organizers. Thank you, truth-seeker.

  2. It is almost too weird to believe, but many many years ago a good friend of mine was doing work with the Christian Appalachian Relief Fund organization and he was in that area and actually sent me a big poster promoting the Squirrel Festival. Which mentioned the gravy. I cherish it.

  3. The article is copyrighted 1997. In more than 10 years, how much press did this danger get? What other truths have been hidden from the at-risk, but unsuspecting public?
